New organizational structure
Effective April 1, 2007, Henkel will merge its Consumer and Craftsmen Adhesives and Henkel Technologies business sectors to form the new Adhesives Technologies business sector. The two businesses had combined sales of 5.5 billion euros in 2006. Jochen Krautter, currently responsible for the Henkel Technologies business sector, and Alois Linder, currently responsible for the Consumer and Craftsmen Adhesives business sector, will jointly head this new business sector until June 30, 2007.
Effective July 1, 2007, Jochen Krautter, personally liable managing partner of Henkel KGaA for many years, will retire from the Management Board as planned. Alois Linder will then assume the sole responsibility for the new Adhesives Technologies business sector.
"The strategic rationale behind the merger of these two businesses derives from the advantages of a unified market approach," said Ulrich Lehner, Chairman of the Management Board of Henkel KGaA. "We expect this move to enable us to better utilize the core competences of both business sectors and to significantly accelerate growth in all regions of the world."
In North America, the new Adhesives Technologies sector will market a wide array of consumer and industrial brands including Loctite® adhesives, Duck® brand duct tape, and LePage® adhesives in Canada.
